How It All Began
The R and J in our name comes from our founders Rick and Judy Tilley, who founded the business in 1976 with one goal: provide top-quality plumbing services and honest, dependable work. Rick was the plumber, Judy handled the books—and together they laid the foundation for what would quickly grow into a community staple.
“At the start, our goal was to add a truck a year,” Rick recalls. “But after six months, we already had five trucks. The business has continued to blossom ever since.”
That early growth didn’t just happen. It came from a willingness to help, no matter the request. When plumbing customers began asking if we could handle bathroom remodels, we said, “Sure, we can fix that.” That simple phrase—"We Can Fix That!"™—stuck. And it’s what inspired us to officially launch the remodeling division in 1993.
Today, R.J. Tilley Plumbing & Remodeling operates as both a plumbing contractor and general contractor, fully qualified to manage everything from a clogged drain to a full kitchen or bathroom renovation. With skilled carpenters, in-house designers, and licensed tradespeople on our team, we’re proud to offer a smooth, end-to-end experience under one roof.
